About me
I'm a motivated and diligent developer, experienced at delivering maintainable web applications that can scale across a range of industries and sectors.
I'm passionate about mentoring, knowledge sharing, and building an inclusive culture of continuous improvement in the teams and organisations I work with.
In my spare time I love to read, cook, travel, and play football. I work out most days, and I try to walk as much as I can.
Right now I enjoy working with Ruby on Rails to build accessible, user-focused full-stack web applications —using JavaScript to progressively enhance the user experience where appropriate.
Experience
I've worked as a consultant, contractor, and full-time employee. You can find out more by checking out my CV, or heading to LinkedIn.
I'm most proud of work I did at thoughtbot, where I led efforts to improve mentoring best practices across the organisation, and the work I did at the Department for Education, where I was a core member of the Teaching Vacancies product team —helping build a culture of continuous improvement and delivering key new features.
Over the years I've spent time working with a range of technologies, and I'm always keen to learn new things.
Education
I have a Masters degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics (specialising in Aerodynamics and Computional Fluid Dynamics) from the University of Southampton.
